Today we watched a video about the Ice Storm of 1998. The storm was very hard and hydro towers were falling down. First it snowed a lot and then it rained and everything froze. Thirty people died because there was a lot of ice and there were a lot of accidents and car crashes. Cars were getting stuck. There were no lights and no electricity. People had no lights, people could not cook and people were very cold because there was no heat. Children couldn't go to school because there was too much snow and ice.

Today, we talked about trees and the leaves. We learned that the trees change throughout the seasons. In fall, the leaves on the trees change colours and fall down. Thousands of leaves grow on the trees in the summer. In the spring time, the leaves start to grow. Flowers blossom on some trees. In winter trees have no leaves and they look frozen.

Today, we read a story called "All Around the Seasons". We learned that the seasons change. We learned that people wear different clothes for different seasons. The pictures showed different things that happened in each season. The picture showed us that night time turns to morning. People play different sports and do different things in each season.

Today we learned about the sun. The sun is very hot. The Earth is closest to the sun, the sun is the hottest. Some people get sun and some people don't because the Earth turns. There is fire in the sun and you need to wear sunglasses so your eyes don't get burnt. You need to use sunscreen so your skin doesn't burn. The sun gives food to the plants. The sun melts the eyes. If there was no sun, it would be dark and the water would be frozen. The sun melts the snow and makes icicles.
